One of the beautiful wild cat was photographed by camera trap in Leuser Ecosystem. The marbled cat, Pardofelis marmorata. The cat weighing just 2-5 kg looks like a domestic cat. However, the marbled cat has a very long and thick tail. This species lives in both primary and secondary forests, with a preference for hilly terrain.
These cats feed on small animals such as rats, birds, lizards, and frogs. The cat’s coat is thick and soft, it also superficially resembles a clouded leopard in coat and pattern. Their gestation is estimated to vary from 66 to 82 days and kittens weigh 61 to 85 grams at birth.
