Since his bachelor in 2008, Arief has involved in many expeditions, assessments, and conservation projects around Indonesia from Sumatra to Papua, which enrich his skills and knowledge of floristic and plant ecology. He earned his Master degree (M.Si) at Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) in 2013, Environment Biology Program focusing on Environmental Assessment using floristic stewardship. Right after his Master, Arief joined Fauna & flora International – Indonesia Program as his dedicated to carbon and biodiversity conservation. Recenly, he managed various project for tree conservation on FFI sites as well as National program. His hope is to be able to explore and report more on floral diversity especially the threatened and protected species, as well as its conservation action in Indonesia.
